Is IELTS required for Canadian PR?
IELTS is not the only option. CELPIP is accepted for English, and TEF Canada or TCF Canada for French. Some approved language test is required for economic PR programs.
IELTS specifically is not required, but an approved language test is. For English, IRCC accepts IELTS General Training and CELPIP-General. For French, TEF Canada and TCF Canada are accepted. Economic programs such as Express Entry require results from one of these tests; self-declared ability is never enough.
